IF YOU DON'T KNOW YOUR RIGHTS...HOW CAN YOU USE THEM?

What do you think about my title? Well, it is very true! Here is ONE example...lets say you did not now the Bill of Rights, and were accused of stealing $3,000 dollars and a truck. Later, you were arrested by the police, and they took you to court. The only defence you would have would be...well probable have none because you did not now the Bill of Rights (your Rights has an a American)! I am sure you know what might happen.

That is why it is very important for you to know the Bill of Rights.

I am back...with information!

Alright! I am back. I found what I was looking for...the Bill of Rights! I am going to explain it the best I can bit by bit.

First Amendment-Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

In the first part I think it is saying the Congress can not make a law that has to do with religion, and they (the Congress) can not hinder you from doing your religion.

Next, it says they (the Congress) can not hinder nor block you off from the freedom of speech and press. I think that part is pretty clear.

Next, they (the Congress) can not take away our right for us (the people) to peaceably assemble. (assemble: to come to gather)

This last part says they (the Congress) can not hinder us from making the Government give back our rights, if they have infringed a upon them.

Let me know what your thoughts are about this first part.

Sorry about this.

I am going to stop my blog for a little while. You see I just started this blog with out a plan, so now I am going to research and get information for the rest of the week or two, or three.

The Ten Commandments

First Commandment - You shall have no other gods be for me.
Second Commandment - You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in the heaven above nor on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
Third Commandment - You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.
Fourth Commandment - Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.
Fifth Commandment - Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
Sixth Commandment - You shall not murder.
Seventh Commandment - You shall not commit adultery.
Eighth Commandment - You shall not steal.
Ninth Commandment - You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.
Tenth Commandment - You shall not covet.

The Bill of Rights

First Amendment - Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Second Amendment - A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Third Amendment - No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law.
Fourth Amendment - The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable seaches and seizures, shall not be vionlated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Fifth Amendment - No person shall be held to answer for any capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual servicein time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall private property be taken for public use, with just compensation.
Sixth Amendment - In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district where in the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been preciously ascertained by the law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense.
Seventh Amendment - In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any court of the United States, than according to the common law.
Eighth Amendment - Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.
Ninth Amendment - The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or desparage others retained by the people.
Tenth Amendment - The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
