Well to begin, a gun is also know has a firearm. Now I have question, is a gun a tool or a weapon? Well, it is a tool. After I said that you are probably thinking, "What?! All guns are weapons!" But all guns are not weapons. A gun is a tool because you can use it to defend your self, family, etc. And you can use it to hunt wild animals for food. But you can take your gun and murder innocent people with it. Remember, the gun is a tool, and if you take that tool and murder people with it you, become the murder, not the gun!

What is a nail gun? It's a tool that helps you put nails in the walls faster. Know lets say you take that nail gun and a shoot someone with it, and you murder that someone with the nail gun. Is the Government now going to make laws so you have to get a permit and you have to be old enough to get one?
Remember, the nail gun is a tool, and if you take that tool and murder someone with it, you become the murder, not the nail gun!

You are right when you say the person holding to gun, shoots soemone, is the murder, but I don't totally agree with the fact that a gun is only a tool.
ReplyDeleteSure, you can use it as you would a tool, but I believe it is a weapon. A gun is meant to kill, or wound, Defensive or Offensive, you use it as a weapon.
You could say the same thing with a sword, spear, or anyother weapon used 1500 years ago. They used them for protection, defense, and for food. But I believe they are still called weapons.
I am not commenting this to argue about your opinion, but you asked me what I thought, so I am only telling you what I think of a gun.
But, I totally agree with you, the gun is not the murder, it's who pulls the trigger.

If the gun, sword, spear, and all the things that can kill are weapons, that incloods hamer, nail gun, ax, ect. All tools can kill liveing things. People call the gun, sword, ect., weapons because the can kill, but a hammer and a ax can kill, so dose that make them a weapon?

A hammer and ax are not used as weapons, they are used as tools...thats why I think theres a difference...sure you can kill someone with it, but most people don't use them as weapons...

i agree with both of you it can be used as a tool but it was made for a weapon but technically anything can be used as a weapon
